Peter Hansen - Music
Like any other person you can ask I would say I like good music. It is very hard to find anyone, who openly admits they enjoy bad music. However, in my personal view I would consider trash metal or modern jazz as examples of bad music. That being said, I would claim I have a broad taste in music and likes mostly anything ranging from classical opera to rock music. But you can judge by yourself viewing the contents of my CD collection. My favorite music is blues and traditional jazz music. You can play great artists like Eric Clapton, Taj Mahal, Koko Taylor, Muddy Waters, Luther Allison, Dr. John, and especially BB. King and you will most definately have my full attention. I am a big fan of BB King whom I think is one of the best interpreters of 20th century blues music. Among my personal favorites are songs like The Thrill is Gone, Paying the Cost to be the Boss, When love comes to Town, How Blue Can You Get,… The list goes on and on.
I love traditional Dixieland Jazz music. This is the kind of music you can often find on harbor festivals or on a restaurant at lunchtime. A good place to spot Dixieland Jazz here is Copenhagen Jazz festival. However, I must admit when you want to real experience why not go straight to the source? The best jazz place I know is Preservation Hall on Bourbon Street in New Orleans. Another great place for live music is Blues Alley in Washington DC. There is alot of music heavily inspired by blues, jazz, chospel, soul, and rock which I like. The awsome Motown sound with artists like Aretha Franklin, Ike and Tina Turner, and the Blues Brothers sound is a type of music I that always makes me into a good mood!
I also love what you would characterize as classic rock, artists like Queen, Dire Straits, and Pink Floyd are among my favorites. I am a great fan of Bruce Springsteen especially his period with the E Street Band between 1975 and 1985. Songs like The River, Jersey Girl, Born to Run, Mansion on the Hill, and My Hometown makes me close my eyes and daydream of driving on endless highways in the Midwest. Actually, these songs makes excellent driving music for long drives on deserted highways! You can listen to my radio station on yahoo. If you don't have an account at yahoo, you probably have to register first. The playlist is generated automatically, but should with some accuracy reflect my taste in music. |
